Not much to report for today. We spent another low-key day at the house. First thing this morning, Danny consulted with one of our hosts, Jose, about the snake across the road. Thankfully, he said it was a boa constrictor (not poisonous!) but he seemed impressed with the size of the snake. He held his arms out wide as he told Jennifer about our encounter.
Danny and I went for short, hot run on the beach road and saw some of the other estates and hotels on the other end of the beach. We a quick dip in the pool afterwards and had some fresh pineapple with our breakfast. Darcy was feeling better in the ear category but now had a sore throat, which can often accompany an ear infection. Later in the day, she felt well enough to swim in the very warm pool, hang out in surf and do some building projects at the river. Julia, Jennifer and Jose’s dog and our friend Brownie from down the road hung out with us, too. Zoe spent most of the day relaxing in her room but had a nice walk on the beach in the afternoon. We all enjoyed some reading time (my favorite!). Shell collecting was high on the to-do list as well.
We’ve been waiting for one of Esterillos Este’s famed sunsets, but have been thwarted by clouds the last few nights. We saw our chance tonight with the day was fairly clear with no rain. It’s our first rain-free day so far. We finished the night out with dinner at home and several epic rounds of Uno. Do they call it “One” in Spanish-speaking countries?

Looks beautiful! Glad you are having a great vacation. Stay away from the snake!Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
