Mistico Hanging Bridges

Animals, animals, animals! Today we took a guided tour at Mistico Hanging Bridges Park. We spent about 2.5 hours on the tour with Yarihda and another family of four. Our guide pointed out as many animals as possible and allowed us to use her scope to view and photograph each animal. We saw hummingbirds, a hawk, toads, strawberry poison dart frogs, bats, two owls, a spider, a tarantula, a monkey’s arm (but not the whole monkey), bees, a sloth, the eyelash viper (a venomous snake) and a toucan. We heard howler monkeys, but didn’t see any.

Along the trail, we crossed 5 hanging bridges and several smaller bridges. About halfway through our hike it started to rain, but we were still able to see a few critters at the end of the tour.

After an afternoon of hanging out at home and a quick trip to the grocery store to restock, we ate at a local restaurant that was rated highly on Trip Advisor. Another great Costa Rican meal! We even ran into the family from our tour at dinner.
